Just Another Day at the Walker's

The kids new favorite thing is playing with the camera, they have taken some pretty crazy pictures & some pretty good pictures too.

Space Mouse King!

Preston had his 1st grade concert on Thursday, April 25. He had the lead, he was the SPACE MOUSE KING!

The basic plot: Most of the first grade are the Earth mice. They are are at mouse school playing on the playground and singing a song when a spaceship "belly flops" in a tree in the schoolyard. They sing a song and the space mice enter. Preston says "greetings, we are the mice from outer space." The space mice ask if they can stay and live with the Earth mice. The Earth mice say "no" & sing a song about how they are weird and different and they are not wanted so "go away." The Earth mice introduce the mean cat and sing about her. Then she sees a baby mouse and chases it, mommy mouse asks for help. Space mice to the rescue! The space mice grab a HUGE flyswatter and chase the cat away. The Earth mice are grateful and invite the space mice to stay & live with them. They all sing "Let's be friends" & live happily ever after together. The end!

It was a cute show & Preston did a great job in spite of waking up that morning with a fever of 103. He is our little STAR!

Sick Days

SICK DAYS--We've had too many lately!

Preston playing Wii to pass the time, he probably enjoys being sick because I let him ply more than his 30 minutes.

This was day one of being sick, also the day of his 1st day concert. Today, day 3, we found out he has strep throat.

Macall is not sick but finds Madeline's sick day another excuse to wear her jammies all day!

This picture Madeline took of Macall while messing around with the camera, but I love it. This is so typical of Macall, she has brought all her pajamas, her blanket and a pillow downstairs; just put on a princess movie and she is in heaven. (No kidding, she wears about 5 or 6 pair of jammies a day, and her clothes, and dress ups. She is crazy!)

Overall we have had a pretty healthy year, but the last two weeks have been tough. Madeline had fevers then a cold that turned into a sinus infection, now with antibiotics she is doing well. Now Preston and his strep throat--48 hours and we should be good, if the rest of us can stay healthy!

One CRAZY Spring Day!

Last Sunday morning we were leaving to go to our

8:00 a.m. church (yep, that's what you call early church) and I ran out to get in the car and noticed this *winter wonderland* at our neighbors. We had warmed up enough for sprinklers to be turned on, then as Spring will do, we got a cold blast and those who forgot to turn off the sprinklers were hit with an ice storm. Risking being late for church, I ran back in for my camera. I couldn't resist the beauty of it, it was truly an amazing sight. Yes, we made it to church with time to spare and to get our normal bench. Although it wasn't too hard, because it was the first week at our new early time (thanks to "growing pains" here in Mtn. Home) there weren't too many others to compete with for our bench. Maybe as the weeks pass we will all get used to 8:00 church and the congregation will be full before it starts!

We're Friends With the Flakes!

One great thing about Mountain Home is that we are a convenient pit stop for traveling friends. Two weeks ago, April 6, The Flakes (no they are not "flakes" their name is Flake) stopped by for a visit on the way back to Seattle from Utah. They are friends from Biloxi, MS and we have missed them. As you can see our kids match up perfectly and we were close while in Mississippi. The periodic visits while on the way to visit family are always fun and the kids are always excited to catch up again with their friends, they seem to pick things up as though they were never separated. We sure will miss the visits when they return to Keesler (MS) this summer.
