We're Friends With the Flakes!

One great thing about Mountain Home is that we are a convenient pit stop for traveling friends. Two weeks ago, April 6, The Flakes (no they are not "flakes" their name is Flake) stopped by for a visit on the way back to Seattle from Utah. They are friends from Biloxi, MS and we have missed them. As you can see our kids match up perfectly and we were close while in Mississippi. The periodic visits while on the way to visit family are always fun and the kids are always excited to catch up again with their friends, they seem to pick things up as though they were never separated. We sure will miss the visits when they return to Keesler (MS) this summer.

A Couple New Fix Ups.

This is our new ottoman/coffee table. The kids love it, it is comfortable. I was pleased with how it turned out. You sometimes get to a point when you need a "project" (or at least I do) this was a lot easier than painting (which has been on my mind lately). Derrick would flip if I came home and caught me painting a little over a year away from moving. This let me create something new and it could go in the basement of our next home, so it was easier to justify! Also the color is closer to the pillows on the couch for some reason it came out looking very fluorescent in these pictures.

I just hung these pictures. This skinny wall has always bothered me, nothing has ever fit on it just right. I like how these pictures fit. For less than $25.00 I should have done it a long time ago.

Dishes anyone!

Madeline was the lunch room helper this week. She is so cute with her hair net. She is so excited to go to school every day just so she can work in the lunch room. Today Madeline has worn her hair net all day even after she returned home, but we had to draw the line when she wanted to wear it into Walmart (I guess she would have fit in). If she were only so excited to do her jobs at home.

Macall the Coloring Queen!

Macall loves to color. Her Primary teacher is amazed at how careful she is when she colors, in fact, so am I. At Christmas Macall got a "dollar store" princess coloring book and crayons, along with a lot of other stuff that may seem more exciting, but not to Macall, she ignored her other toys and just colored. This is the picture she got in her sunbeam class the week before conference, she is proud of it and I am proud of my little coloring 3 year-old. I think President Monson should wear a light blue suit/shirt and bright yellow tie. Don't you think the Church should use a pink background for General Conference? It brings out the Prophet's nice tan.
